Can Foreigners Get the HPV Vaccine in Korea?
Quick answer: Yes. Foreign adults can get the HPV vaccine in Korea at private clinics. At Eunice Women's Clinic in Seongsu, Seoul, Gardasil 9 costs 240,000 KRW per dose (posted price; may change). Adult vaccines are usually not covered by NHIS. Korea's national program gives free HPV vaccine only to children and teens in eligible age groups. Dr. Eun Mi-na consults in English.

Who is eligible for the free national HPV vaccine?

Do I still need Pap smears after the vaccine?
Yes. The vaccine does not protect against all HPV types, so regular cervical cancer screening is still recommended. See Pap smear.

- Bring your passport or ARC and any previous vaccine records.

When can I get vaccinated?
The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10:00–19:00; Tuesday and Thursday 10:00–20:00; and Saturday 10:00–14:00. Booking is recommended so the vaccine can be prepared. Tell the clinic which dose you are coming for.

How many doses do adults need?

Does NHIS cover the HPV vaccine for adults?

Can I get the vaccine if I already have HPV?
Often, yes. The vaccine can still protect against HPV types you have not been exposed to. Discuss your results with Dr. Eun. Regular Pap smears are still recommended after vaccination.
Can I get an English vaccination record?
Ask the clinic for a document showing your vaccination. An English medical certificate costs 20,000 KRW. Keep the record with your vaccination history, especially if you will complete the series in another country. Prices may change.
