- Book a day when you are not on your period. About 1–2 weeks after your period ends is a good time.
- Avoid sex, tampons, vaginal medicines and douching for about 24–48 hours before the test.
- If you have an active infection, the doctor may treat it first and repeat the Pap later.
When will I get my Pap smear results?
