What is a well-woman exam?
A well-woman exam is a preventive gynecology visit. It is for checking your reproductive health when you feel well, not for treating a new problem. In many countries it is done once a year. In Korea there is no single fixed "well-woman" package, so at Eunice Women's Clinic the doctor builds the visit around your needs.

If you have symptoms such as unusual bleeding, pain or discharge, tell the clinic when you book. The visit is then treated as a gynecology consultation for that problem.
What does a well-woman exam include at the clinic?
- Health review: Dr. Eun asks about your periods, contraception, sexual health, pregnancies, family history of cancer, vaccinations and medicines.
- Pelvic exam: a visual check of the vulva, vagina and cervix with a speculum.
- Pap smear: if you are due, a sample of cells is taken from the cervix. An HPV test may also be discussed.
- Optional ultrasound: a pelvic or transvaginal ultrasound checks the uterus and ovaries.
- Optional additional checks: breast ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, STD testing, or blood tests such as vitamin D or hepatitis and rubella immunity.
- Summary: the doctor explains findings from the exam and ultrasound, and tells you which results will come later.
How do I prepare for a well-woman exam?
- Book the visit for a day when you are not having your period, ideally about 1–2 weeks after your period ends.
- Avoid sex, vaginal medicines and douching for about 24–48 hours before a Pap smear.
- Bring your last Pap smear or HPV result if you have one, and your vaccination record.
- Wear comfortable clothes. A skirt or loose pants can make the exam easier.
When will I get my results?
The doctor explains what she sees during the pelvic exam and ultrasound on the same day. Pap smear, HPV and blood test results usually come back within a few days; the clinic will tell you how you will receive them.
How much does a well-woman exam cost in Seoul?
The total depends on the tests you choose. When a test is medically indicated, or when you are eligible for the NHIS cervical cancer screening (every 2 years from age 20 for eligible members, as of 2026; check with NHIS), coverage may apply. The non-covered prices are:

Where and when can I have the exam?
The clinic is on the 8th floor of Bethel Place, 120 Achasan-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, across the crosswalk from Exit 3 of Seongsu Station (Line 2), about a 1-minute walk. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00–19:00, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00–20:00, and Saturday 10:00–14:00. The weekday lunch break is 13:30–14:30. The clinic is closed on Sundays and Korean public holidays.

How often should I have a well-woman exam?
Many women choose a yearly visit. How often you need each test, such as a Pap smear, depends on your age and past results. Dr. Eun can suggest a schedule that fits your history.
Is a Pap smear always part of the exam?
No. A Pap smear is done when you are due for screening. If you had a normal result recently, the doctor may suggest waiting. Bring your last result so she can decide.
Can I add a breast ultrasound to my exam?
Yes. A breast ultrasound can be added on the same day. The non-covered price is 90,000 KRW. Prices may change, so confirm with the clinic when you book. Booking a day about 1 week after your period can make the scan more comfortable.
Is the NHIS cervical cancer screening available to foreigners?
Foreigners enrolled in NHIS may be eligible for the national cervical cancer screening every 2 years from age 20. Eligibility rules can change, so check with NHIS or ask the clinic.
