What is a fertility consultation?

A fertility consultation is a first medical check for people who are trying to get pregnant or who plan to try soon. At Eunice Women's Clinic, it is a basic evaluation. The goal is to understand your cycle, check your ovaries and uterus, and decide on the next step.

The clinic is a primary-care OB-GYN clinic. It offers basic tests and ovulation induction. It does not perform IVF (in vitro fertilization), IUI or other assisted reproduction procedures. When these are needed, Dr. Eun refers you to a fertility center.

Who is a fertility consultation for?

• People who have tried to conceive for some time without pregnancy
• People with irregular periods or no clear ovulation pattern (see irregular periods)
• People with known conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis or uterine fibroids
• People who want to know their ovarian reserve before planning a pregnancy
• Couples who are new to Korea and want to understand their options in English

Common medical guidance suggests a check after 12 months of trying, or after 6 months if you are 35 or older. You can also come earlier if you have concerns.

How does a fertility consultation work at the clinic?

1.  History in English: Dr. Eun asks about your cycle, past pregnancies, health conditions, medicines and how long you have been trying.
2. Ultrasound: A gynecologic ultrasound checks the uterus and ovaries, including the lining and follicles (see transvaginal ultrasound).
3. Blood tests: An AMH test estimates ovarian reserve. Other tests, such as rubella immunity, may be suggested.
4. Plan: Based on results, the doctor may suggest timed intercourse, ovulation induction with medicine and ultrasound follow-up, or referral.
5. Referral if needed: If IVF or other advanced care is appropriate, you receive a referral to a fertility center.

Are the tests safe?

A blood draw can cause brief discomfort or a small bruise. A transvaginal ultrasound may feel like pressure; tell the doctor if you are uncomfortable. Ovulation induction medicines can have side effects such as hot flashes, mood changes or bloating, and they can raise the chance of twins. The doctor explains the risks that apply to you. Individual results vary.

How much does a fertility consultation cost in Seoul?

Many tests are covered by Korea's National Health Insurance (NHIS) when medically indicated. The prices below apply when a test is not covered.

Can I get this care in English?

Yes. A fertility consultation can be done fully in English. Your consultation is with Dr. Eun Mi-na, a female board-certified OB-GYN who speaks English and sees patients in English. You can book through Naver Booking, the clinic's KakaoTalk channel (search "유니스산부인과" or Eunice), or by phone at +82-2-467-3100 (02-467-3100 in Korea). Booking is recommended; call or message to check same-day availability.

If you have medical documents from another country, such as test results, prescriptions or vaccination records, bring them to your visit. Records in English are fine. If you need an English medical certificate or other documents for insurance, tell the clinic before you leave.

Frequently asked questions

Does Eunice Women's Clinic do IVF?

No. The clinic provides basic fertility evaluation, including AMH testing, ultrasound and ovulation induction. If IVF or other assisted reproduction is needed, Dr. Eun refers you to a fertility center and can explain the next steps in English.

When in my cycle should I come for a fertility check?

Many first visits can happen on any day. Some ultrasound checks and hormone tests are timed to certain cycle days. Call or message the clinic when you book, and the clinic can tell you the recommended timing for your visit.

Can my partner come to the consultation?

Yes, partners are welcome to join the consultation. Semen analysis is not listed on the clinic's menu, so ask the clinic, or the doctor can explain where to arrange male fertility testing if it is needed.

Is the AMH test covered by NHIS?

The AMH test may or may not be covered depending on the medical situation. When it is not covered, the clinic's posted price is 60,000 KRW. Prices may change; confirm with the clinic.

What should I bring to a fertility consultation?

Bring your ID or Alien Registration Card, a record of your recent period dates, any past test results or ultrasound reports, and a list of medicines you take. Translated records are helpful but not required.
