Does the clinic accept Korean National Health Insurance (NHIS)?
Yes. Eunice Women's Clinic accepts NHIS. If you are enrolled, reception checks your coverage with your Alien Registration Card or other ID. For covered care, you pay only the copayment. What does NHIS usually cover at a gynecology clinic?
- Consultations for medical problems, such as infections, pain, or abnormal bleeding.
- Many tests and ultrasounds when they are medically indicated.
- National cervical cancer screening every 2 years from age 20 for eligible members (as of 2026; check with NHIS).
What is usually not covered?
- Visits for contraception, emergency contraception, or weight-loss prescriptions (consultation fee 20,000 KRW).
- IUDs such as Mirena (350,000 KRW) and Kyleena (330,000 KRW).
- Adult vaccines, such as Gardasil 9 (240,000 KRW per dose).
- IV nutrient drips, wellness injections, and cosmetic services.
- Tests and ultrasounds done without a medical indication.

Can I visit without Korean insurance?

Does the clinic bill travel or private insurance directly?
The clinic has not published direct-billing arrangements. The usual process is to pay at the clinic and then claim from your insurer. To make a claim easier, ask for the right documents at the end of your visit:

How can I pay?
The clinic accepts card and cash. Payment is made at reception at the end of your visit. Prescriptions are paid separately at the pharmacy.

What about NHIS copayments?
Under NHIS, patients pay a share of the cost for covered care, and NHIS pays the rest. At clinics, the patient's share is usually smaller than at large hospitals. The exact amount depends on the services you receive. Your receipt shows the covered and non-covered amounts separately.
What if my NHIS status is unclear?
If you recently arrived, changed visa status, or had a gap in premium payments, your coverage may be affected. Check with NHIS before your visit. The clinic confirms your status at reception using your ID.

Can the clinic bill my foreign insurance company?
The clinic has not published direct-billing arrangements. Plan to pay at the clinic and claim afterward. Ask for an English medical certificate, receipts, or an insurance treatment-record confirmation. Check your policy first.
Is contraception covered by NHIS?
Contraception visits, IUDs such as Mirena and Kyleena, and emergency contraception are usually not covered. The posted consultation fee for these visits is 20,000 KRW. Prices may change; confirm with the clinic.
I just arrived in Korea. Am I covered?
Foreigners staying 6 months or more are generally enrolled in NHIS, but coverage may not start immediately. Check with NHIS. Until you are covered, you can visit and pay the full price.
Do I pay the pharmacy separately?
Yes. The clinic gives you a prescription, and you pay for the medicine at the pharmacy. NHIS members pay a copayment for covered medicines. Keep pharmacy receipts for insurance claims.
