What does early pregnancy care include at the clinic?

Early pregnancy care is the medical care you receive in the first weeks after you learn you are pregnant. At Eunice Women's Clinic, it focuses on:

•  Confirming the pregnancy with a urine or blood pregnancy test
• Checking location and development with an early pregnancy ultrasound
• Estimating the due date
• Early-pregnancy advice about folic acid, medicines, food, alcohol, exercise and symptoms
• Checking common concerns such as light bleeding, cramping or nausea
• Referral to a partner hospital for ongoing prenatal care and delivery

Does Eunice Women's Clinic deliver babies?

No. Eunice Women's Clinic is a primary-care OB-GYN clinic and does not deliver babies. For later prenatal care and delivery, the clinic refers you to a partner hospital. The clinic does not publish the names of its partner hospitals. The doctor discusses the referral with you and can provide your records and an imaging CD (10,000 KRW) to take to the hospital.

How does early pregnancy care work step by step?

1.  First visit: Dr. Eun reviews your last period, history and medicines, and confirms the pregnancy.
2. Ultrasound: depending on timing, a transvaginal ultrasound checks the sac and, later, the heartbeat.
3. Follow-up visit: if it is very early, you return in about 1–2 weeks for another scan.
4. Early-pregnancy guidance: the doctor explains what to expect and what symptoms need urgent care.
5. Referral: when the time is right, the clinic refers you to a partner hospital for continued prenatal care and delivery.

How should I prepare for my first pregnancy visit?

• Write down the first day of your last period and your usual cycle length.
• Bring a list of medicines and supplements.
• Bring your ID and NHIS details if you are enrolled.
• Note any previous pregnancies, surgeries or medical conditions.

When will I get my results?

Urine pregnancy test and ultrasound results are explained during the visit. Blood test results usually come within a few days; the clinic will tell you how you will receive them.

When should I seek urgent care?

Call 119 or go to an emergency room if you have heavy bleeding, severe or one-sided abdominal pain, shoulder-tip pain, dizziness or fainting. These can be signs of a problem that needs immediate care.

Can I have this done in English?

Yes. Dr. Eun Mi-na, the director of Eunice Women's Clinic, is a female, board-certified OB-GYN who speaks English and sees patients in English. Being pregnant in a new country can raise many questions about the Korean system. The doctor can answer medical questions in English and explain what happens at the referral stage.

Can I have my whole pregnancy care at Eunice Women's Clinic?

No. The clinic provides pregnancy confirmation and early-pregnancy checks. It does not deliver babies, and it refers patients to a partner hospital for later prenatal care and delivery. The doctor discusses timing with you.

When should I first see a doctor after a positive test?

Many women book a visit about 1 to 2 weeks after a missed period, when an ultrasound can usually show the pregnancy sac. Come sooner if you have bleeding or pain.

Does the doctor have pregnancy experience?

Dr. Eun Mi-na is a board-certified OB-GYN and a member of the Korean Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Korean Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She sees patients in English.

Will the clinic give me my records for the hospital?

Yes. You can request medical record copies (1,000 KRW for 1 to 5 pages) and an imaging CD (10,000 KRW) to bring to the referral hospital. Ask at the front desk.

Should I take folic acid?

Folic acid is commonly recommended before and during early pregnancy. The doctor will advise on the dose that fits your situation. Some women need a different dose based on their history, so ask before you start any supplement.
