What pregnancy tests does the clinic offer?

Pregnancy tests look for hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), a hormone made after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. Eunice Women's Clinic offers two tests:

Who is a pregnancy test at the clinic for?

• Women with a missed or late period
• Women with a positive or unclear home test who want confirmation
• Women with early pregnancy symptoms such as nausea or breast tenderness
• Women who need to rule out pregnancy before a medicine, vaccine, IUD insertion or X-ray
• Women following up after emergency contraception or a pregnancy concern

How does a pregnancy test work at the clinic?

1.  Consultation: Dr. Eun asks about the first day of your last period, your cycle length and any symptoms.
2. Urine test: you give a urine sample. The result is ready during the visit.
3. Blood test if needed: if it is very early, if the urine result is unclear, or if the doctor wants to track hCG levels, a blood sample is taken.
4. Ultrasound if appropriate: depending on timing, a transvaginal ultrasound may check whether a pregnancy can be seen in the uterus.
5. Next steps: the doctor explains your result and your options in English.

When should I take a pregnancy test?

• A urine test is most reliable from the day your period is due or later.
• A blood beta-hCG test can detect pregnancy a few days earlier than a urine test.
• An ultrasound usually shows a pregnancy sac from about 5 weeks after the first day of the last period.

How should I prepare?

• For the urine test, try not to empty your bladder just before your visit. First-morning urine has the highest hCG concentration, but a test later in the day is usually fine after a missed period.
• Know the first day of your last period.
• Bring a list of any medicines you take.

When will I get my results?

The urine pregnancy test result is immediate and is explained during the visit. Blood beta-hCG results usually come within a few days; the clinic will tell you how you will receive them.

How much does a pregnancy test cost in Seoul?

The non-covered prices are 10,000 KRW for the urine test and 30,000 KRW for the blood beta-hCG test. When the test is medically indicated, NHIS coverage may apply. Prices were last checked on January 1, 2026. Prices may change; confirm with the clinic.

What happens if I am pregnant?

The doctor explains the next steps, including early pregnancy care. Eunice Women's Clinic is a primary-care OB-GYN clinic and does not deliver babies. For later prenatal care and delivery, the clinic refers you to a partner hospital.

Can I have this done in English?

Yes. Dr. Eun Mi-na, the director of Eunice Women's Clinic, is a female, board-certified OB-GYN who speaks English and sees patients in English. A pregnancy result, positive or negative, can bring many questions. You can talk through them with the doctor in English.

My home test was positive. Do I still need a clinic test?

A clinic visit confirms the pregnancy and, at the right time, checks with ultrasound that it is in the uterus. This also starts your early pregnancy care. The doctor also reviews your medicines and gives early-pregnancy advice in English.

Can I get a pregnancy test on Saturday?

The clinic is open on Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00. Booking is recommended; call or message to check same-day availability. Weekday evening hours run until 20:00 on Tuesday and Thursday.

Does Eunice Women's Clinic deliver babies?

No. The clinic provides pregnancy confirmation and early pregnancy checks. For later prenatal care and delivery, it refers patients to a partner hospital. The doctor can discuss the referral with you and provide records and an imaging CD.
